Show Here's who's who in Town Race standings by Randy Hanskat Well, it's four down and three to go for the local Town Race speed merchants. With over half the season gone, the Jean Claude Killys of Park City are paying more and more attention to the individual in-dividual point standings and the team standings. Points are awarded for the top ten finishers in each category. Here is the breakdown: break-down: first 35, second 30, third-25, fourth-20, fifth 15, sixth 10, seventh 8, eighth 5, ninth 3, tenth 1. A good battle is shaping up in the cross country men with Brad Makoff narrowly in first with 115 points. Dee Wallace isn't far back with 110, nor is Rip Griffith in third with 100. The only real battle in the cross country women is between be-tween Lea Turner with 135 points in first and Karri Hays with 125 in second. The C men are a tight bunch with Dave Norris in first with 70 points. Paul Cooper and Dave Klouzer are second and third with 63 and 60 points. . Susan Ribas would be running run-ning away with the C women, but she paid the price of underestimating her ability and was bumped to the Bs, thus losing all of her points. Now it is Starla Dur-bin Dur-bin very comfortably in the lead. Dan McCann, with points in every race, is leading the B men by 15 points over Jim Peine, but the B women are much closer. In first there is Annaka Johnson with 95 points. But hot on her tail is Renee Vanos with 90, then come Sue Hillman and Marie Plunkett tied for third with 80 points each. The Vet males are a definite two-man race. Currently it is Dave Brennan in first with 110 points, with Dave Durrance in second with 100. The Vet females are a tale of two ties. Karen Korfanta and Jill Merrifield are tied for the lead with 100 points each. Jessie Whitmore and Linda Jacobsen are vying for third at 80 points apiece. The A men are led by Roy Moyer in first with 100 points, but Mark Bender is charging hard in second with 88, and Scott Thompson with 75 in third is within easy striking distance. ' Connie Brandon, riding the strength of consecutive wins in the last two Town Races, is a strong leader in the A women with 125 points. Lea Turner and Janie Fausold are vying for second with 95. The Pro males are a spread out lot, with many racers having good point totals, and staying within range. The current leader is Town Race Czar Bill Skinner with 61 points. But his arch rival Victor Roy is breathing down his neck in second with 55, and Scott Williams and Sonny Greenwalt are in third with 50 each. By contrast, there is no contest among the Pro women. Jamie Kurlander Peters has won every race and holds a commanding lead over Karri Hays. The C teams are led by the Down Under with 80, but in close second is the Eating Establishment with 70 and Food for Thought with 65. The Double E is a good bet to run away with the B class. There is a tie for second between Cofer Chiropractic and the Mid Mountain Lodge with 90 each. The A teams are comfortably comfor-tably led by the Blazing Saddles Sad-dles crew who has won two of the races. They have 115 points.
