Show Injured skier sues resort A skier who collided with a wooden fence has filed a lawsuit against the owners of the Park City Ski Area, seeking at least $250,000 in damages. Ogden attorney James R. Hasenyager filed the 3rd District Court lawsuit on behalf of David Goodchild. The suit named as defendant defen-dant the Park City Ski Corp., doing business as the Greater Park City Corp. The lawsuit claims Goodchild was descending a side trail off the Pay Day Run last Jan. 5 and collided with a "large wooden fence." The resort owners "negligently and carelessly failed to provide ade quate visibility so that skiers would observe and avoid the wooden fence at the bottom of the run. . . " the suit says. The action also alleges the defendants defen-dants failed to install a different kind of fencing that would not have resulted in serious injury to skiers. Goodchild is seeking $250,000 in damages to recompense him for what he calls the severe physical and emotional pain he suffered as a result of his injuries. He also asked the court to order the ski area to pay for past, present and future medical expenses and wage loss in amounts to be proved at trial. |
