Show Summer slips out as snow slides in byNANCHALAT Record staff writer The first, real stick-to-the-streets snowfall was cause for celebration in Park City Wednesday. Wednes-day. Although the storm meant extra ex-tra work for city snowplow crews and caused three automobile rollovers, the general mood of the town was jubilant. No serious injuries in-juries were reported. Skiers were particularly vocal in their approval of the early season snowfall as they looked toward the top of the mountain, mentally measuring the amount of fresh powder accumulating in Jupiter Bowl. Park City Ski Area Communications Com-munications Director Ed Bowers was understandably delighted. "There is a foot of snow at the Summit House and it is still coming com-ing down," he said at noon Wednesday. Bowers said the ski area has scheduled a Nov. 22 opening, "but we are always willing to open earlier if conditions permit. ' ' |
