Show Awards go out for high school football, tennis and volleyball championship. Receiving the Captain Award for the team was senior Holly Scott. And finally came the Miner girls' volleyball team, an - amazing group who whipped all opponents in the regular season and the regionals, going undefeated throughout. The bubble was burst by a loss to North Sevier in tne siaie tournament, tourna-ment, but that loss didn't spoil the spectacular year for the team. Amanda Smith took the Captain Award, while Susan Stover received the Sportsmanship Award. Kelly Bolton won the Leadership Lead-ership Award, and setter tori Pillinger pulled in the Most Valuable Player trophy. by Randy Hanskat The night of Nov. 23 was a timfejaf jgcognition for some Park City athletes. The event was the awards banquet for three of Park City High's most successful teams. All three teams made it into post season competition the football team, the girls' tennis team, and the girls' volleyball team. For the Miner football team, which made it to the first round of the state playoifsJbeijQrfi.losing to Duchesne, quarterback Pat Ott received the Captain Award. Lineman Todd Nelson Nel-son took the Leadership Award, while end Kenny Collins earned the Sportsmanship Sports-manship Award. The Most Valuable Lineman was Mike Price, who also did the punting. And the Jack McKissic Trophy for the most valuable overall player went to end Randy Dyer. The Miner girls' tennis team won the region title, and progressed into this jgax'S state tournament.
