Show USA Today hits Parle City newsstands Park City has recently been added to a list of 45 Utah cities which now receive re-ceive U.S.A. Today, a Washington, Wash-ington, D.C. -based newspaper, news-paper, which prides itself on being a "national" newspaper. news-paper. The full-color paper carries capsulized news from every state in the nation. National circulation of the paper is said to be approximately ap-proximately 1.5 million. The paper is actually laid out in Washington, and then beamed to 17 satellite stations sta-tions across the country. Papers distributed in Utah are flown in from the production center at Fort Collins, Colorado. U.S.A. Today is distributed distri-buted on a Monday through Friday basis. In Utah, the paper is distributed by Pacific Mountain Enterprises, Enter-prises, an Oregon-based group. According to Steve Bennett, vice president of wholesale operations for the company, sales in the Park City area should be brisk. "During the tourist season we expect that people who are used to reading the paper in their hometowns of Denver or New York or Dallas will be delighted to pick up the paper locally. These travelers are also used to their own city papers which carry extensive world news, like our paper does. And by keeping the lodges and outdoor boxes supplied with the papers we should really be filling a need here." While presently there is no home delivery of U.S.A. Today, Mr. Bennett feels they will be able to offer that service soon. U.S.A. Today is a division of the Gannett media corporation, cor-poration, the fourth-largest media company in America. |
