Show Cold hard cash will go to coed tourney winner If your coed team has a penchant for cash rather than shiny trophies, take a stab at the final event of the Park City Softball season the First Annual Park City Coed Softball Tournament. Instead of heading home with a bulky trophy, the winning team will run away with $80. The Sept. 18 tournament will put an end to the long softball season, as eight teams battle on the diamond for the winning pot. Once again, Joy Rasmussen of the Recreation Department is organizing the event. She said that this tournament will allow people to get in volved in tournament play who do not normally have the chance. The low $10 entry fee makes the event open to any team who - can field five women and five men. There will be a limit of eight teams in the one-day tourney, though, so interested teams should sign up in the Recreation Department as soon as possible. The eight entry fees will make up the $80 winning pot. Only seven games will be needed to decide the winner. They will begin at 9 a.m. with the final game starting at 6 p.m. The format is single elimination. |
