Show RauschRausch, ForsgrenSchanfield clean up in weekend golf scramble by Handy Hanskat Many people like their eggs scrambled. And some people like their golf scrambled, 54 people to be exact. That was the number of entrants in a mixed two-person scramble golf tournament at the Park City Municipal Golf Course last Sunday. Rising to the top of the heap were the teams of George and Mary Rausch, and Larry Forsgren and Amy Schanfield, winners of the guest and member divisions, respectively. respec-tively. In the scramble format both players tee off. Then the best drive is selected. From that spot both players make a shot, playing two balls into the hole. On each shot both players hit from the best position allowing the second team member to "go to school" on the shot of the .first, which is an advantage, especially in the putting game. The Rauschs shot a gross non-handicapped score of 75 to take $27 worth of merchandise in the non-member division. Low net in that division was the team of Eddie and Lenore Hutchins with an adjusted score of 71.5, also good enough for $27 in merchandise. Forsgren and Schanfield clubbed a tandem total of two under par 7n to take the low gross of the Park City Men's and Ladies' Associations membership. That feat netted them $40 in merchandise. Low net of the membership was John and Sheila Newman at 48.1 2, winning $40. Second low net was Geoff Conner and Rosemary Cyphers at a fractionally close 48.63 that landed them $35 in goodies. Third net were the Croppers, Rich and Vivian, at 51.91, winning $30. Fourth net were Bernie and Lee Bennett at 52.02. Fifth were Bob and b-ene Ziegler at 52.05, and sixth were Merle and Cindy Huseth at 54.83. The Men's and ladies' Associations Associa-tions will continue their weekly play-on play-on Tuesday morning for women and Wednesday eveing for men. The next weekend event will be the two-man Men's Association championship champ-ionship on August 12. |
