I Soccer squad peaks in win April 24 The Park City High School soccer club avenged its only loss of the season Wednesday, April 24, when it seized an emotional edge to defeat visiting Rowland Hall, 3-1 . "We were really up for this game," said Miner coach Jess Schaub. "We peaked at the right time, and really jelled as a unit. " The Miners, now 3-1-1 on the year, used . strong defense and a quick, mobile offense to gain a measure of revenge against the Salt Lake City team. "We passed the ball very well and played a solid game on both offense and defense," said Schaub. Eric Olsen scored a pair of goals and Kyle Lowther added another to provide the scoring punch for the Miners. But they didn't do it alone. "Our halfbacks, Max Soderstrom and Scott Cartier, played very well on both the offensive and defensive ends," said Schaub., "They did an excellent job of supporting our offense. "I think with this lineup that we'll be tough to touch. We are playing very well, and very consistently." Park City was also seeking some revenge on Wednesday, May 1, when it hosted Waterford, which it tied earlier in the year with a much different lineup. See next week's paper for results. |
