Show Historic Photos On Exhibit In Salt Lake Through July A collection of 19th century paper photographs will be on exhibit at the Salt Lake Art Center July 9 through August 1. Accumulated by local collector Bill Lee, the exhibition will open Friday, July 9 with a public reception from 7-9 p.m. at the Art Center, 20 South West Temple, and will feature the . works of C.R. Savage, C.W. Carter, A.J. Russell and Layton Huffman. Mr. N Savage was a Salt Lake City photographer who did most of his work at the turn of the century, as did Mr. Carter, another Salt Lake area photographer. . Mr. Russell was the official photographer for the Union Pacific Railroad Rail-road from 1868-69. Mr. Huffman was the official photographer for the U.S. Geological Survey, Department Depart-ment of the Interior under Director Hayden, 1860's to 1870's. His work covers a broad period of time and geographical area. The other works concentrate on Utah, with some photographs photo-graphs of the intermountain region. The exhibit includes approximately fifty photographs, photo-graphs, some of which will be available for purchase, . Also opening with a reception recep-tion on July 9 at the Salt Lake Art Center is a collection of photographs by the Victor School Faculty, Victor, Colorado. Colo-rado. The work of twenty-six photographers who teach or have taught at the Victor - School at various times will be presented in the exhibit. The "Gloria and DonaJd B. Marron Collection of Amcri- can Prints" continues in the Main Gallery of the Art Center and "New Works on Paper by Marilyn Miller Raku by Stan Roberts" continue in the Sales Gallery. The new exhibits will be on display in the Corridor and Upstairs Galleries thru August 1. The Art Center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays and Symphony nights until 9 p.m. and Sundays from 1-5 p.m., closed Mondays, jl Following the opening receptions on July 9th, admission to the Center is $1 .50 for adults, 75 cents for students.
