Show Editorial This Friday, October 15 at 4 p.m., the Park City miners will play their final home game of the 1982 regular season. Although their opponents, the North Summit Braves from" Coalville, are the decided underdogs, a fierce rivalry exists between the two squads which should make for an exciting match. The home team is enjoying an excellent season this year and would probably be yet undefeated if it hadn't been for an unfortunate case of butterfingers during the October 1 bout with .South Summit. Park City has played seven matches so far this season and has won six. They are ranked third in state 1-A football this week just behind Southern Utah powerhouses Kanab and Beaver. However Park City has beat Beaver already this season and on Beaver's home turf as well. Last week they upset Class 2-A ranked Wasatch with a victory that sent shock waves throughout Utah football circles. If the Miners can beat North Summit Friday they will be assured a berth in the 1-A championships and have a shot at Park City first state football championship. We wish the Miners luck in the game Friday and in successive games to the state championship. We urge all residents to turn out at Miner Field Friday to cheer the home team on to victory. |
