Different businesses sponsored and ran booths at this year's Park City Circus. The booths that-generated that-generated the most funds for the ChamberBureau at Snowflakers this year included: in-cluded: 1st place: Dunking Booth -sponsored by: Gump & Ayers Real Estate, Summit Savings, and Silver Shears. 2nd place: Horse Race -Sponsored by: Sneakers, the Village Store and Frankie's. 3rd place: Wheel of chance - Sponsored by ChamberBureau Cham-berBureau staff & Holly Matson. The winter snows made for a thankful Thanksgiving weekend in Park City. Area businesses reported better than average sales this year, compared to previous Thanksgivings. Park City Ski Area's Assit-ant Assit-ant Marketing Director, Robbie Beck, reported at least 3,000 skiers per day were on the mountain on Friday and Saturday. She pointed out that this estimate did not include season passholders or coupon book holders. Robbie said, "We are now two weeks ahead in ticket sales from where we were last year at this time. This is one of our earliest openings in the last several years." Utah ski areas fared well as storms continued to bring more snow before the Thanksgiving holiday. More Utah ski resorts were open, and with more snow last weekend than in past years. Thanksgiving day snow reports re-ports included: Alta - 54", Snowbird - 50", Brighton -52", Solitude - 45", Park City - 25' ' , Powder Mountain -44", Brian Head -44", and Snow Basin opened on Saturday. Lodging reports for the Thanksgiving weekend (Wednesday-Sunday), totaled to-taled 5,671 persons booked for Area lodges. The figures below indicated numbers of persons witn reservations, and do not reflect check-in figures: Wed. 964, Thur. 1362, Fri. 1422, Sat. 1418, Sun. 505. It's time to take- a deep breath and prepare for the winter ski season. Christmas isn't long away, and with that more visitors to area businesses. To prepare for the winter ski season, the ChamberBureau Cham-berBureau reminds members mem-bers that they must register today for the annual employeeemployer employ-eeemployer workshops. This all-day event, entitled, "Back to School", begins at 8 a.m. on Monday, December Decem-ber 6th at the Prospector Square Hotel & Conference Center. Cost is $7.50person . and includes lunch at the Grubsteak. A variety of speakers and presentations will be given to make all of us more informed on Park City its history, what it offers to residents and to tourists, and many helpful business discussions and ideas.
