Show Hockey Battle Slated The Park City Silver Kings are bracing to do battle with the hockey team from Snowbird Sunday, April 4 in a 7 p.m. clash at the Salt Palace. The Kings won the first meeting 8-3 and dropped the second game 4-3. The rubber game will determine what ski resort will have the hockey bragging rights for the year. Free skating time will be available to those who wish it for one hour after the game. Admission is $1. The proceeds, after the Silver Kings expenses are deducted, will go to the Back Country Rescue Team. Bus Chartered to Hockey Game Mike Eberlein, owner of the Corner Store, has arranged for a bus to transport interested hockey fans to the Sunday Silver Kings - Snowbird game. The bus will leave the steps at the bottom of the resort, near the Corner Store, at 5-1 p.m. and return immediately after the game. Tickets are $9 and will include beer for the ride down and back and admission into the game. If you snooze you lose. Sign up as early as possible. Nordic Races Scheduled The final Wasatch Citizen's Series race will be held at Brighton on april 4. The dual GS telemark race will begin at 9:00 a.m. under the evergreen lift at Brighton. Registration is $10. A 5, 10, and 25 kilometer track race will take place at 2 p.m. Registraton is $4. Both registration fees include an all day pass and free refreshments. Entrants can save $1 by preregistering early at Sunset Sports Center in Salt Lake. Day of the race registrations are from 8 to 9:15 a.m. for the dual GS and from 1 to 1:45 p.m. for the track race. Following the race an awards celebration will be held at the Mr. Majestic lodge at Brighton at 5 p.m.. Refreshments and prizes, donated by Sunset, will be awarded then. Skiers with the highest cumulative points will be awarded trophies supplied by the Wasatch Race Nordic Association. The skimeister award will be presented to the skier with the highest combined telemark and race track points. Currently Robert Landis of Alta leads with 169 points and Park City's Jim Miller is second with 165 points. Babe Ruth League Begins Boys ages 13-15 are invited to try oui for a team now forming to play in the Babe Rulh League in Midway and Heber from April to early July.
