Show Mime Gregg Goldston Mar 26 Gregg Goldston has spent this past year in Lima, Ohio as a resident artist in the schools. Goldston returns to Utah and to the Park City stage next friday night March 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Egyptian Theater. Goldston was born in Los Angeles and moved to Salt Lake City in 1976 where he incubated his career through 1980. His first exposure to the theater was at the age of 18, he says, when he attended a performance of Marcel Mar-ceau. Mar-ceau. "I was so impressed that I found myself trying to imitate him while I was leaving the theater." Goldston says he prefers to write plays for mime. "My writing time varies from play to play," noting he has written some 50-60 plays. "I draw material from about .10 plays for my touring performances," per-formances," he explains. Goldston earned his first award in mime in 1978 in San Diego where he won first place in the Masters Mime Competition. Two of his students won the next two awards. In 1980, he was the recipient of a Choregraphy Fellowhsip from the National Endowment for the Arts. Tickets for the Goldston performance are available at the Egyptian theater.
