' &4x 1 I v.. . 1 a 3 H :'-r ' ..- 1 - ' h 'iii-w. . 1 'The Taming of the Shrew' Opens Next Thursday William Shakespeare is alive and well in Park City as the Intermountain Actors Ensemble presents Shakespeare's Shakes-peare's romantic comedy "The Taming of the Shrew." The production stars Anthony An-thony Leger (IAE's "Zoo Story" at the Kimball Art Center) as Petruchio, Anne Burnett (IAE's "Streetcar Named Desire") as Kather-ine Kather-ine and Rai French (IAE's "The Fantasticks") as Bapt-ista Bapt-ista Minola, Kate's father. Salt Laker Kerri Maxficld makes her Park City stage debut as Kate's sister Bianca with talented Van Berre prcmjering as Luccntio. Richard Ric-hard Mitchell (IAE's "Chapter "Chap-ter Two") plays the Pendant with Davis French debuting as Tranio. Mike Hamill (IAE's "Bojangles") tackles Hortensio with- Denna Wright capturing the Widow. Wid-ow. Young Mike Draper steals yet another show (IAE's "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum") in his appearance as Biondello while Sue Griffiths as Grum-io. Grum-io. Randy Sheya as the Tailor, Ron Burnett as GremioVincentio and Tim Morris as the Servant round out the cast. "Shrew" marks the seventh se-venth IAE production to be directed by Ron Burnett in a series of highly-acclaimed performances. "I've wanted to bring Shakespeare to Park City ever since IAE was formed," says Burnett, "we have got the talent to pull it off and 1 think I can promise Park City audiences an jvening of exceptional fun ind entertainment." The play opens next Thursday. Thurs-day. March 25 with a wine reception. The production is - slated for two weekends, performance dates are March 25, 26 and 27 and April 1, 2, and 3. Tickets will be sold at the door of thd Prospector Theater beginning at 7:30 p.m. each performance evening even-ing at $4 adults. $3.50 students, senior citizens and Prospector guests. Curtain is set for 8 p.m. at the Prospector Theater. |
