Show Seven Women J In recognition of their outstanding out-standing competition performances perform-ances this winter and their demonstrated potential as top junior skiers, seven men and seven, women cross country skiers were named to the U.S. National Junior Cross Country Team. They include Latt Straley, Wyo.; Grant Yutrzenka, Wis.; John Svensson, Wash.; Greg Randall, Colo.; Jim Welling-hurst, Welling-hurst, N.H.; Coert Voorhees.i Wash.; Torsten Oberst, Ver.;. Jay Jay Peot, Alaska; Kristen Petty. Ver.; Kelly Milligan. Wyo.; Leslie Ann Thompson, Ver.; Chrissy Lewis. Colo.; Christen Gatz. Wis.; and Keli McMenamy, Colo. These athletes will participate partici-pate as a U.S. Ski Team group on the Western Dannon Series, the national cross country spring series races that will be held in the Western U.S. March 16-31. Additionally, they will attend the U.S. Ski Team Cross Country equipment testing and draining camp to be held in May in Oregon or Wyoming. Wyo-ming. ; According to first year development coach Peter Ashley, this marks an important import-ant commitment to the development deve-lopment of the next generation of U.S. Ski Team skiers. 'There, is unquestionably a great deal of future talent in this group. We look forward to working with them for the remainder of this year and in the years to come as they mature into international caliber cali-ber skiers." |
