Show P rA J" ' Wr TV, .vr - Ride And Tie Coming Soon The first Park City Levi Strauss Ride and Tie, "the most unpredictable, unpre-dictable, exasperating and intriguing intri-guing footrace in America" is less than a month off and local teams are busy training for what promises to be an exciting day in Park City. Work is being done now on setting the course which will start in Deer Valley and cover 25 miles of scenic territory in the Lake Flat area before ending at City Park with a Western Bar-B-Que and dance open to both participants and spectators. The Ride and Tie course maps and information will be available to participants by July 1 in the Chamber office at 509 Main Street. Participants may ride the course, by permit (also available in the Chamber office) from July 1 through the afternoon of the 13th. Chamber hours are Tuesday through Sat. 10-4 Sunday 12-4. Even though the official deadline dead-line for application is not until July 13, we would appreciate knowing how many Park City teams are planning to take part and will be vying for the prizes offered by local businesses to area residents. Give us a call at 649-8899 if you are planning to enter. For those of you not entering as contestants but still wanting to be involved, we need more help on the week end of the race. If you're interested in being a trail marshall, helping check teams in or out or just generally making yourself useful, please call and let us know. We will be having a meeting with the Levis people the first week in July to assign duties. Remember, as participant, helper or spectator set aside July 15 for a day of old fashioned Western Wes-tern fun. |
