Air Market. Photo by Max Jarman Ski Team In New Quarters As you probably have noticed not-iced there have been alot of those brown official looking UJS. Ski Team cars around the old Mt. Air Market location loca-tion on Main Street. The team has bought the building and is in the process proc-ess of turning it into the world 'headquarters of the United States Ski Team. The move was facilitated by the consolidation of the training centre and the organizational or-ganizational f a c t i o n of the team into one entity. The management end of the team was formally located lo-cated in Denver. Dick Gould, vice president and general manager of the team said, "The move will make the organizational problems of the team much easier in that the head offices will be near the training centre. This will eliminate many of the communication com-munication problems of the past. The interior of the build- ing has been renovated; new carpet has been laid and furniture moved in. A crew of secretaries and management officials are already al-ready on the job. Their plans for the exterior exter-ior of the building are undisclosed. un-disclosed. As for the team, they are all busy working out, getting ready for the World Cup held in Europe early this December. Dec-ember. The downhillers are taking a breather after returning from a summer training camp at Mt. Hood, Oregon. They will leave for Chile shortly, where it is now the winter season. As for the jumpers, they have just returned from Madison, Wisconsin where they had been jumping on artificial snow. They will return to Madison Mad-ison in August. The cross-country team has just returned from a dry land camp in the East. They will go back in September. Sep-tember. In the meantime all team members are on individual training programs which include in-clude strict diets, weight lifting, jogging etc. Prospects seem to look real good for the World Cup. |
