Show Utah Motorists Should Watch Out for Deer Utah motorists should be on the lookout for deer concentrating concentrat-ing along highways, according to Division of Wildlife Resources Re-sources game biologists. Deer are changing their diet now from the coarse winter feed to succulent early spring grasses, found most abundantly near highways. Biologists explained ex-plained that moisture from highway drainages and heat generated gen-erated by passing vehicles causes grass to grow earlier near the roadways than other places. Night drivers should be especially es-pecially cautious along Interstate Inter-state systems and in canyons. A sharp rise in deer-auto collisions col-lisions has been experienced this winter and early spring, resulting in deer loss and considerable con-siderable vehicle damage. |
