Show ONE OF MORGAN County's best-loved ladies was approached ap-proached in an Ogden store recently, re-cently, by a lady who was a total stranger. I wonder if you'd help me. You have such a sweet face and I need help very badly." "What can I do?" 'I'm too old to be downtown alone and my children would punish me if they knew I was wandering around like this. I'm just a lonely old woman and I guess I'm scared to be alone and now I can't find the ladies' room. Oh, my, you have no idea what it's like to be old and helpless." help-less." THE MORGAN LADY showed show-ed her the little girls' room, waited around to see if she needed further assistance, and found a spot where the poor old soul could rest. "Thank you so very much for being so kind. I hope some one will give you a hand when you get old and helpless like me." "And how old are you?" "I'm 72 years old. I wish I was home." I didn't bother to tell her," said Mrs. Dorothy Bertoch, "that I'm 86." ORDINARILY I DON'T go around looking for. cats. But there's one cat in Morgan I simply must find. If you own this pussy-cat or torn give me a buzz and I'll reward you. This is no common alley-cat. alley-cat. It's a full-grown, well-fed nice-looking yellow and white animal. When it went past the office the other day I rubbed my eyes, no fooling I couldn't believe what I saw. In a lifetime of observing feline habits, I have noted, as who hastn't? that when cats go somewhere they either walk sedately, or trot royally, or surge forward in mighty leaps. BUT NOT THB'n. Oh no indeed. in-deed. This Tabby was PACING. Have you ever seen a cat pace? Well, neither had I. We know that one breed of dogs, those handsome black and white Dalmatians, habitually proceed at a pace. But not cats, for hev-vins hev-vins sake. (On come now. You know what a pacer is. The legs on the right side, move forward at the same time, followed in rhythm by the legs on the left side. Most animals trot.) So here I sit with camera ready, when and if that yellow and white Tabby ever shows up again. Help! Mac. |
