Show Dixie Band Concert Proves Popular Although it was a cold, stormy day Friday the Dixie band from Southern Utah put a bit of warmth into the day with music, and what a sound so early in the day. The band members left St. George by bus at 3 a.m. Thursday morning and gave a concert in the HighSchool at Payson, another at Heber at 1:40, then on to Park City where they were served dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith with the help of friends. Then off to places to stay which were also furnished by many who opened their homes as well as some of the hotels. Friday morning at 10 a.m. the Hardrock Room at the Resort Re-sort made a unique setting and they all commented on the beauty surrounding them. After the concert they went on the gondola ride, then back to Heber where they put on another concert at 1:40. The group then went to Salt Lake where they spent the night sightseeing Saturday Sat-urday then back to Dixie. Hal Smith attends Dixie college col-lege and so he and his family were a great help to the group setting up the accommodations and entertainment to make this a special trip for his fine group of young people, and they did a fine job musically. |
