Show City Council Sets Garbage Costs; Discusses Sheriff Building Lease May 20, 1971 Acting Mayor George Gas-parac Gas-parac presided over this meeting. meet-ing. Councilmen present were: Clements Hansen, Robert Burns Jr., and Arthur Durante. Attorney Turner, Marshal McAlevy, and Supervisor Georgio were present. Minutes of the previous meeting meet-ing were read and approved. Mr. Ed Morgan from Greater Park City Co., came to the meeting to discuss several problems with the council concerning con-cerning water contracts and their Hud application, also standards stan-dards to be met on roads. A motion was made and passed to accept tiie agreement of the Greater Park City if the property prop-erty to be disclaimed is as represented by Greater Park City Co., and standards satisfactory satis-factory to the City Council of Park City are met. Mr. Fay Dearden, Bishop of the Latter Day Saints Church, came to the meeting to get approval ap-proval to tear down the old Lar-sen Lar-sen home and to make it into a parking lot. The Council gave permission. Off street parking is a problem" in that area and the council appreciates any improvements im-provements that can be made in the situation. Contracts for the Water and the papers on the Park Lease were given to Mr. Morgan for final drafting. Attorney Turner read the letter let-ter from the County Attorney and also the lease as written by him on the Sheriff's Office. The Council instructed the attorney at-torney to contact the County Attorney as soon as possible and to get a final agreement on the building so the members of the Museum Committee will be able to make final plans. Attorney Turner asked the Council to adopt the Housing code so definite action can be taken on health and safety conditions condi-tions in the city. This action was tabled until next meeting. meet-ing. Attorney Turner asked for approval for funds (for court costs) to collect water and sewer delinquent accounts. Council approved. A discussion was held on the construction of garages on streets where the property was not sufficient to permit building as set forth in the zoning ordinance or-dinance . All agreed that garages were needed very much and that the ordinance should be amended amend-ed so as to permit the building. build-ing. The Council agreed that the residential fee for garbage collection col-lection will be raised to two dollars per month, ($2.00) effective ef-fective June 1, 1971. It was also decided to give a two week notice to the two youngest men on the payroll. Contracting the garbage to a contractor has eliminated the need for two employes. Keeping the garbage truck and also the patrol was discussed. It was decided to decide on the disposition of the equipment at the next meeting. Acting Mayor Gasparac asked John to check into the costs of installing a man-hole on the sewer line near the high school to eliminate the winter problem of plugged lines. Supervisor Georgio asked permission to buy' lumber to repair the steps around the City. Permission was granted. Marshal McAlevy was in-. in-. structed to contact the owners of rental property and inform them of the days garbage was collected on their respective streets. People coming up for week ends and leaving garbage gar-bage out to be collected is causing a problem as the dogs scatter it all over the town. The payroll for the period May 1, to 16th $2,718.35.
