Show Mrs. Carlson Retires asTeacher i V The Park City P.T.A. elected new officers Friday night, May 21. Ballots were passed out to members in the audience at the Band Concert and afterwards they were counted, tallied, and the results announced. For vice-president, Clair Boyle; for secretary, Dorothy Murnin, and treasurer, Marilyn Weaver. Bill Wallin, outgoing president, thanked all for their help this year and wished Tad Bingham, incoming president, good luck. The highlight of the PTA meeting was the presentation of a gift to Mrs. Irene Carlson, First Grade teacher at Marsac School who is retiring after 43 years in her chosen profession. Thirty four of these years have been spent at Marsac. A poem composed for the occasion oc-casion was read by Lynda Simmons Sim-mons and when Mrs. Carlson stepped in front of the microphone micro-phone she intimated that if she had it to do over again, she'd do just the same. Her mother, Mrs. Tree, from Bountiful was in the audience to share in the honors bestowed on her daughter. |
