Show Pheasant Hunt Toll Far Dovn Preliminary surveys of the opening weekend of the pheasant hunt show that success suc-cess was generally low, concurring con-curring with the all time low roadside counts this year. Reports from Division of Wildlife Resources regional region-al game managers indicate that the best huntingoccurr-red huntingoccurr-red in the northeastern part of Utah and in Sanpete County. Coun-ty. Managers also reported substantially reduced hunting hunt-ing pressure this year. Duchesne county reported report-ed the highest success with 1.14 birds per hunter, which was better than expected. Uintah county hunters bagged bag-ged .93 birds per hunter, slightly more than lastyear. Good hunting was also reported re-ported at Erda in Tooele county and at the south end of Salt Lake county where hunters took about one bird . per hunter. Cache county success ranged from .33 birds to .93 birds per hunter, hunt-er, with best shooting at the nnrth onH Poor hunting was reported report-ed in Juab County and in Utah county with the exception of the Springville-Paysonarea.
