Show - 1 !? QS3 . 1963 1971 a fine line SOMETIMES, ONE GRAPH is worth a thousand words. It lets you see just how things line up. Over the past 18 years, the cost of living has climbed 45.2 . . .that's the tog line. During these same 1 8 years, there has been but one small increase in Utah Power & Light Company '.s rates for electricity . . . that's the bottom line. While the cost of living has risen substantially, our electric rates have gone up only 7 in Utah, in 1963; 4.1 in Idaho, in 1964; and 10.4 in Wyoming, in 1964. Many people are now enjoying color television, self defrosting refrigerators, refriger-ators, and more recently, garbage compactors. There are many appliances that were not in general use 1 8 years ago that consume more power in the home than 1 8 years ago. That's why most people have a higher electric bill today than they did in 1953. We've done better than most in offsetting inflation with more efficient operations.
