Park Cily West's all professional pro-fessional ski patrol, will consist of .TS part time and 8 full lime members. Director, Di-rector, Dick Frost, states the area lias acquired and maintained some of the finest fin-est patrolmen around, with the members receiving citations matured for two years. NASTAR (National Standard Stan-dard Race) will again be conducted this coming ski season. NASTAR is the popular all ability recreational recrea-tional race, using a basic handicap score similar to golf, and is complete with electric timing. Park City West will conduct NASTAR each Friday and Saturday.. The Buddy Werner League (BWL) will be a regular Saturday program again this season. This children's program for the 7 to 13 year olds, offers all day instruction and all lift pass, all for $6.00 a day. Bus transportation is also provided at an additional cost. Ski School Director, Bob Autry, will staff nearly 60 ski teachers for this season. sea-son. The proven GLM (Graduated Length Method) Meth-od) will be available at the area this coming season. The Graduated Length Park City West has added 5 runs new for the 1971-72 ski season. The new runs, named: "Racetrack," "Race-track," "Lil" Hombre", "Pistol Grip", "Bushwhacker," "Bush-whacker," and the recut-ting recut-ting of the once narrow Geronimo," will bring to a total of 23 groomed runs available for the 1971-72 ski season. The new run of "Lil' Hombre" and recut-ting recut-ting of "Geronimo" will afford two more long and protected runs, just for the fluff buffs. Crews have been work-' work-' ing during the summer months in a general grooming, widening and improvement cam paign. Many of the existing runs have new faces, wider and more skiing terrain, and several bottlenecks have been eliminatea. A considerable amount of grass seed, the type suitable suita-ble for mountain planting, has been distributed over several runs. The various types of seed, which offers summer beautification, prevents erosion, and during dur-ing winter months offers a sturdy carpet of insulation against ground warmth, will begin sprouting in late spring and not be fully |
