Show New Zoning Laws Are Approved; Linda Leatham New Treasurer Councilman Burns reported that the planning commission had appointed Miss Julie Tab-rum Tab-rum to act as secretary for the Planning and Zoning Commission. Commis-sion. The Council approved the appointment. The Library report for October Oct-ober reads as follows: 239 books and 20 magazines were circulated, cir-culated, 13 used reference books, $1.33 was collected in fines, 257 visited the Library and the Library was open 26 days in October. Respectfully submitted by Delia Clegg. Marshal McAlevy submitted the following report for October: Oct-ober: 48 citations were issued. Eleven parking in no parking zone, 8 with no safety inspection inspec-tion stickers, 5 speeding, 2 driving with faulty equipment, 2 blocking roadway, 4 with no operator's license, 2 im-proper im-proper parking, 1 illegal possession pos-session of marijuana, 2 illegal consumption of alcohol, 1 blocking block-ing fire hydrant, 1 stop sign, 1 blocking driveway, 1 illegal U turn, 1 double parking, 1 parking in police zone, 1 improper im-proper passing, 1 driving under the influence of alcohol, 1 public intoxication, 1 foul and abusive language, 1 destroying private property. A total of $512 was collected in fines and forfeitures; $6.10 was collected in court fees, making a total of $518.00 collected for October. Respectfully submitted submit-ted by J. T. McNaughtan, J.P. Councilmen present pres-ent were: Robert Burns Jr., Clements Hansen and Arthur Durante. Minutes of the previous meeting meet-ing were read and approved after the change of one name for election judges. The planningCommission recommended re-commended approval of the following license applications: Victor & Francine Buck, Baby Sitting Service, Resort Center. Lloyd L. Stevens & Co., Beer and cafe, New Park Hotel. Kirk J. Guffey, Car & Truck Rental, 638 Park Avenue. Wm. F. Bentley & Wm. L. McCarthy, Beer and Merchant, the Forge, New Park Hotel. Georgie Carol Rixey, Rooms for rent, 357 Main Street. Richard A. Rogg, Cafe License Li-cense and Beer, 430 Main Street, The Hearth. Richard A. Washburnand Richard S. Nielsen, Ski Tuning and Storage Resort Center. Councilman Durante moved to approve the licenses, Councilman Council-man Burns seconded the motion and it carried. One license for rental rooms was tabled until the zoning ordinance or-dinance is amended. One application to bring a R.R. car in for a living unit was denied because of no sewer in the area. Three applications were received re-ceived for the position of City Treasurer. After reading the three, a motion was made to appoint Linda Leatham as City Treasurer. Motion carried. Linda will take the oath of office of-fice and begin work immediately. immediate-ly. The other applications will be kept on file for future reference. Two bids were read for the used equipment. The Council tabled them both. It was decided to advertise again and to place ads in the Tribune and News. The Attorney submitted the agreement for the dump site. He stated the agreement in itself it-self was satisfactory but he suggested sug-gested that Mr. Hughes, and the City Property C o m m i 1 1 e e go over the ground described, be-. be-. fore the document is signed. An amendment to the zoning ordinance was read by Lie attorney at-torney and approved by the Council. The Amendment will be advertised twice in the Park Record and will become effective ef-fective December 20th. An amendment to the sign ordinance or-dinance was also approved and will be advertised in the Record and become effective on tha first publication. |
