Show PC Students Set Rules ior Year; Miners Deieat Yasatch Rcadem Park City HighSchool student council meetingforSept. 8,1971. Studentbody President Bill Mawhinney presided. Items of business discussed and passed were: 1. Lunch line . . . Seniors will always be first. Other classes clas-ses will rotate as they did last year. 12-11-10-9-8-7-12-10-9-8-7-11. Signs telling the class order were discussed. 2. Class meetings . . . Class meetings will be held every two weeks. Wednesdays if possible. 3. Homecoming date was set for Oct. 1. 4. Class meetings were held Sept. 15 to discuss class floats. Every class must make a float or pay a$25.00fine.Cheerlead-ers a$25.00fine.Cheerlead-ers will make up a theme around which the floats will be centered. center-ed. Prizes are as follows: $15.00 1st, $10.00, 2nd, $5.00- 3rd. 5. Candy will be sold at all home games by Juniors. 6. School Mascot was voted on by students. The winner was Paula Kaye Roach. 7. Mike Farley is the new Advertising C h a i r m a n. Reporter, Re-porter, John Lehmer, -PCHS-THANKS The students of PCHS would like to send a note of thanks to the townspeople for their fine support at the football game. Students realize how busy you are, and they appreciate your taking time out to travel such long distances in order to support the team. Park High's new Home Economics Ec-onomics teacher, Miss Carolyn Hassell, likes to do woodwork, cooking and some sewing. Miss Hassel is from Ashland, Ash-land, Oregon. There she graduated grad-uated from Ashland HighSchool where she was a cheerleader. Miss Hassel is also a graduate grad-uate of BYU. The classes she is teaching here at Park High are: 7th and 8th P.E.; 7th and 8th Home Ec; 9th Home Ec; 9th P,E. and 10-12 10-12 homeliving. She is also the Pep Club and Cheerleader advisor. ad-visor. Because Ashland was a small school Miss Hassel feels right at home in Park City. Miss Hassel is presently living liv-ing in Salt Lake City.-John Lehmer, reporter. -PCHS- A birthday party in front of the Memorial Building? Yes, a birthday party for Bert Murn-in, Murn-in, Junior class president, and Tangee Sanchez, co-chairman of the Junior Prom committee, was held in front of the Memorial Building while a "Welcome Back to School" dance was held inside. All this took place Saturday, Satur-day, Sept. 4, from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Shadow Fox, a rock group from Coalville, played at the dance, which was sponsored by the Junior Class. A lot of people attended this very informal in-formal dance. The total receipts re-ceipts for the dance were $170. The Junior class gained $60. Reporter, John Lehmer. (Contiiried on Page Eight) game is another victory as they teat Wasatch Academy 26-0. In the first quarter Carey Yates scored a touchdown on a pass from Jeff Polychronis. In the second quarter Mike Watts scored on a pass from Jeff Polychronis. At half time the score was 12 -0 for Park City. In the ttiird quarter, quarterback, quarter-back, Mike Watts, scored on a quarterback run around the end. In the fourth quarter Steve Arko scored on a hand-off from Jeff Polychronis. After the fourth touchdown, a two point conversion was tried. It was successful with a pass from Jeff Polychronis to John Reese. Jeff completed 10 out of 13 passes pas-ses for the game. Park City is now 2-0 for the pre-season games. Park City has scored 34 points in two games and the defense has only allowed five first downs in the two games. Mike Murphey, Carey Dorka. Was what the students of PCIIS were asked to do by the photographer from national nation-al School Studios as he snapped snap-ped their pictures. The photographer took 237 pictures of the seventh through eleventh grades and of the faculty. fac-ulty. The seniors will have their pictures taken later in the year with caps and gowns. The packets will cost $2.50 plus 10? for tax and will have a total of 14 pictures, 12 wallet size, one medium size, and one large size picture with frame. -Reporter, Mike McDonald. October 22, North Summit, away. October 29, Dugway, away. All home games will be at 1 p.m. at the new park behind the Christopher Restaurant.
