Show Wasatch County Commissioners Seeking Answers from Chevron Wasatch County Commissioners have instructed their attorney to contact Chevron Pipeline Co. on getting additional data concerning con-cerning the effect of the company's proposed Pipeline station near Woodland. Wasatch Commissioners stated if they did not exact details from Chevron they would rescind the building permit issued to the pipeline firm. The action in Wasatch County was a direct result of a meeting meet-ing attended by approximately 35 Summit County residents. Most of the Summit County people were from Woodland. Summit County Commissioner Mel Flinders and County Planner Grant Orton also attended. Woodland resident Ken Williams acted as spokesman for the citizens. He pointed out to the Wasatch Commissioners possible environmental impact questions being posed as a result of the Chevron station construction. Also at the session was Richard R. Nelson, Salt Lake Attorney At-torney of the firm of Kirton and McConkie, who was representing represent-ing the LDS Church. Mr. Nelson expressed concern on behalf of his client for possible impact on a Church-Owned YWMIA Camp in the area where the proposed Chevron plant would be built in Wasatch County i Wasatch County Commissioners expressed surprise over actions in Summit County and admitted they did not realize exactly what was happening and were not aware of the possible problems. Wasatch County Planner Dale Berg reported the final decision de-cision of the Wasatch governing body to get further details or rescind the permit. |
