S Main in Centerville celebrated ed his birthday anni anniversary anniversary ver- ver sary with his family on Wednesday Wednesday Wed Wed- i. i Mar 6 MR STREEPER is the oldest nati native born born ve-born resident of Center- Center ville vine He was born in 1878 in the family home on the corner of Chase Lane and Main Mam Street the son of William H H. H and Mary A A. A Richards Streeper Mr l Streeper has witnessed the life of the pioneer era to the jet age and Is very interested in watching the growth of Centerville Center Center- ville vine and has taken a very ac active active active ac- ac tive part in the development of the community MR l STREEPER'S life has centered around the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter Saints At the age of 21 he served a mission to the Colorado Colorado Colorado Colo Colo- rado Mission He has served twice as the Y president in Centerville has been een teacher of of the adult classes in Sunday I Yo School been an officer In in the Priesthood quorums and also also- served as a local missionary As a me member of the High Priest Quorum he enjoys having having having hav hav- ing the group hold Its meetings in his home MR STREEPER PER was married to Voila Rosetta Smith the daughter of Samuel and Rosetta L. L Smith on Oct 15 in the Salt Lake Temple Mrs Streeper died in 1954 1959 After 11 living ving in Salt Lake City where he worked for they moved to Centerville where they purchased a farm and home After retiring from farming he worked with the Walton Porter-Walton Company IN 1930 THE FAMILY lost Its home farm buildings and or orchard orchard orchard or- or chard when the flash floods struck Centerville The family lived temporarily in Salt Lake City and then moved to their present home The daughters and their families families families fam fam- Dorothy Ivy and Cecil A. A Carr Rosabelle and Raymond A. A Gwynn Carmen and W. W Lamon Lamoni Lamont La- La mon mont moni Carr 12 grandchildren and their families with 13 great grandchildren enjoy being with their Grandpa Streeper His love has kept the old Streeper house a home to them MR AND MRS l Streeper also had two sons Rex who died In 1926 and Cecil who died in 1954 Mr Streeper has lived a wonderful wonderful wonderful won won- life of being a good friend and neighbor and has been an Inspiration not only to his family but to his many friends and neighbors wherever he has been ff If |
