J Muir Elementary School was observed Tuesday Mar 5 The school site is a beautiful one overlooking the city of Bountiful Bountiful ful the valley below the Great Salt Lake and the islands IRVIN CLEVERLY school board president conducted the ceremonies and welcomed the group assembled Henry Peterson a member of the school board from the Bountiful area said the school will be very modern with 21 rooms costing f It willbe will willbe be o of f m rn desi C a g n Modern teaching methods methods methods meth meth- will be used and tally trained teachers will be hired for team teaching MR PETERSON said there are 50 schools in Davis County with students enrolled Nine thousand students are transported to school each day and lunches are served daily Mayor Morris who represented the c citizens i t i zen s of ot Bountiful greeted the group and said they will be proud to havethe have havethe I the new school in the area WARD HOLBROOK a former student of Leo J. J Muir told of the good works done by the Mere Just social club in circulating circulating cir cir- a petition requesting a school be named for Leo J. J Muir Mr Holbrook also outlined outlined outlined out out- lined briefly the good work done for Davis County schools by Mr Muir He spoke of the love and devotion devotion devotion devo devo- tion his students felt for their beloved teacher and the influence influence influence ence for tor good he had with young people VERN MUIR a nephew of Leo J.
