A Ryan Dies Following Operation While not unexpected the news of the tho passing on of Thomas Adam Ryan last Sunday morning came as a shock to his many friends and associates with whom ho was held In high esteem Mr Ryan was stricken at work on February with an acute attack of appendicitis appendicitis and and was taken direct to the tho Holy Cross hospital Salt Lake hake and underwent an operation from which he ho rallied splendidly and was progressing satisfactorily until a week ago last fast Tuesday Tuesday Tuesday Tues Tues- day when he was served with a severe sovere and continuous coughing spell causing a rupture of ot the incision and from thenon then thenon on despite skilled attention he gradually sank Into his final sleep Deceased was one of Park City's city best known and popular citizens making his homo home hero here for tor 41 years and always ac- ac tivo tive in civic civlo and fraternal affairs In his younger days he was the champion baseball baseball base base- ball player of ot the community lIe He became be- be be became came engaged In mining and for tor many years p past st he was hoisting engineer at atthe tho the Daly West shaft a unit of the ParK Utah Mining company He lIe was an active member of Park City Lodge Elks a prominent member of ot Circle Neigh Neigh- j bors hors of Woodcraft and an nn esteemed I 1 member of ot the local union 90 DD Mine Milland Mill Milland and Smelter Workers A devoted husband and father and a dependable genial serviceable citizen In tho community where ho spent the greater portion of ot othis his life lite The Record extends sympathy to tho the bereaved family Mr Ryan was born in Vicksburg MissIssippi Mississippi Miss Miss- Mississippi on April 2 1876 the son of John and Emma Rich Ryan coming to j Utah with his parents when he was a babe of ot six months In his youth he Was waa employed as shoe hoe cutter at Zions Zion's Cooperative Co Co- Co- Co operative Mercantile Institution of Salt Bolt Lake hako City In September 1899 he was married in Salt Batt Lake City to Miss Mary Gulver Quiver he and bride coming to Park City In 1901 Deceased is survived by his widow two sons Kenneth Ryan and Delbert Ryan of ot Park City three daughters Mrs Ruby Putman of ot Park City Mrs Gladys I of Grass Gross Valley California and Mrs Emma Everley of Los Angeles California Call Call- CallI I fornia a brother Monte Ryan of Los Loa Angeles six sisters Mrs Ed Edna a. a Johnson of ot Long Beach Bench California Mrs Mamie Witzel Mrs Bertha Fogle Mrs Ruby Noyce and Mrs Ida Noyce all nil of Salt Lake City and Mrs Kate Williams of Ogden 24 grandchildren and one great great- grandchild Funeral services were held this afternoon afternoon after after- I noon at the tho First ward L.
