| Show SE SENATOR NATIOn SMOOT REPLIES on oil the ot of this month a request was made ot of senator reed smoot that he lend his influence in an effort to have an allotment made from the blanket appropriation bill recently passed tor for the maintenance and upkeep up keep ot of U S post offices etc to make necessary improvements on the grounds of our new federal building that the same may he be more pleasing to the eye as well as showing up the building more advantageously rather than to sit ait a special appropriation lor for this purpose tuesday of this week the following reply was received washington july 22 1921 mr air S L park city dear mr I 1 desire to acknowledge acknowledge receipt ot of your letter of july 1921 requesting that the necessary improvements prove proTe ments be made around your new post postoffice office tice I 1 have forwarded your letter to hon hall james A supervising architect and request that favorable action be taken on this request just as soon as his report is received I 1 shall write you further with very best wishes I 1 remain yours truly REED SMOOT |
