| Show MARY gayham INEP if TIGER swallowtail when the is here id daddy 1 I think mink it I 1 is nice to hear about the flowers and the birds slid and the butterflies ter flies and ill all the doely summer things thing so do we said nancy and were hearing about them too sit said nick kick yes said daddy that Is why I 1 want to have so many of the butterflies and birds and the flo flowers iNers tell their stories stones and now the tiger swallow tail Butter flys story Is to be told im the tiger swallow tall butterfly said the swallowtail Swallow talt butterfly to some of 0 the other butterflies flying about the flo flowers iNers now a tiger is an animal but of course a tiger swallowtail is a butterfly 11 but it Is fine to be a butterfly and set to be named after such a beautiful and wild and powerful animal adamal as the tiger we haie h ne bellow and black stripes so go in that way we ne look like tigers for they are striped too you know to be sure we nie dont louk much like tigers in other oilier ways nays we arent big like they are we dont walk about were quite unlike tigers in every way but in our stripes we fly and we dont roar they dont illy fly and they do roar we sip honey from the flowers and they like meat better we dont like meat and they dont mp honey from the flowers or at least ive nener neer seen them sipping honey from flowers to be sure there are no tigers about here except the ones in the zoos but at any rate I 1 cant imagine a tiger sipping honey from a flower and I 1 dont believe care much about it I 1 dont believe they w 0 some ot of our family wear slightly different suits from the others and there are even some members of our family who iho like to wear a great deal more black than we do with many touches of ellow and some of blue yes we dont all dress alike but that Is just its as well there Is really L quite gentle no reason why iby every member of a family should diess less alike eiery dery boy and aery girl of a certain family P I 1 know dress quite differently and I 1 think that is a good idea but of course there is also much to be said about every creature belonging to t a butt butterfly ertly family dressing alike because it Is easier then for people to know which family we belong to it is very hard otherwise we do things differently in our family too we have various habits and souie some of our relatives look like mall snakes N while tile still i they rie aie caterpillars they have hane heads shaped very audi like snakes and they sit frit up in III sudi a way nay that they look like snakes then too they think it makes them look dangerous and that it Is a great protection to them but how nice it ft Is to hange diange from being a caterpillar into being a butterfly 11 Y how nice that is how title it Is to have audi it a family name as we baie baic for tiger swallowtail Is a beautiful family name millie we can call be quite gentle and et ct we ine sound mry iery willil mid and it Is rather fun full to aund wilia and vet not to lo have to 10 lo do a lot ot of wild things alch would be nery cly hard bard to do and would frighten us a lot im sure the wild thing bilings them tiger does would friEr lilen us os dreadfully pe lie would go u oft for hunting par r ties liali we like at it all ono one of oc our family s i aw n tiger at the I 1 circus the other oilier lay day nod lie slid said that file he tiger ligor as a wild looking creature but very very beautiful so we like to lie he as the utter Is and were allowed to to do as ai xe ue like yes were allowed to lie he beautiful and nd gentle and no lie one objects no aine lie at all |
