Show amusements it was a small but ft ell pleased audience which greeted yon yonson at the grand opera house last night it seems that this swedish dialect comeay drama has a hold upon the amusement public which would be hard to break the lines are wholesome and the situations amusing and laughable without being ridiculous the principal character of course is yon yonson and tho actions of this swede fresh from the old country arc laughable in the extreme the audience was at times convulsed alth laug liter and at others wept in sympathy with the big hearted david brattstrom as yon yonson gave a creditable interpretation of the part being of swedish extraction the dialect la easy for him his violin ceplo work was good and he also knew how to alag a little the supporting company gave mr brattstrom fair support the singing of the imperial comedy four male a bit with the audience v ere encored four or five times clial odd fellow harry Bc resford who is appearing this season in chas T funny farce our new man will shortly be seen in this city he comes to us loaded down with tho highest from wherever he has been seen somo even going ho far as to say that lila methods remind them of such artists as billy florence john sleeper charke and john T raymond and that his comedy is of the legitimate school free from the slapstick slap stick and knockabout order that contaminates most farces of today our new man is one of those delightful farces that la fresh in comedy rich in repartee and clever in its construction it affords mr beresford Bere stord amplo opportunity to display his methods and peculiarities and has won for him the distinction of being one of the brightest of the younger come dlana on the stage of today manager coleman has staged this play bulto effectively and has sur rounded mr beresford with a cast that will portray the various coloa in a b fitting manner at the grand opera house thursday night |
