Show an ordinance an ordinance providing for a bicycle path or roadway through the streets of ogden and granting privileges and protection to bicycles and their riders be it ordained by the mayor and city council of ogden city utah section 1 upon all streets and aver in ogden city that now have or may hereafter have a line or lines bt electric poles or line or lines of railway track in or near the center that part tor two feet each side of and along side said line or lines of poles or in said street is hereby created a bicycle path over which bicycles shall have exclusive right of way and over which it shall be unlawful for any vehicle drawn by animals to travel except as may be necessary in crossing from one to the other side of said street section 2 bicycles with or without lamps may be ridden between the curb lines of any street at any time section 3 it shall be unlawful tor any person to ride a bicycle upon any of the sidewalks of ogden between the hours of from one hour after sunset until sunrise unless the bicycle Is provided with a conspicuous and plainly visible light section 4 bicycles provided with a proper light may be ridden upon any of the sidewalks of ogden except those sidewalks alongside paved or macadam ased streets and washington avenue from to streets section 5 bicycle riders shall in meeting or passing any bicycle team or person turn or keep to the right section 6 it shall be unlawful tor any owner or occupier bt any land or premises fronting upon any street or sidewalk where bicycle riding Is not prohibited or for any electrical or railway company whose poles or tracks may occupy any part of the streets of ogden to place or allow to remain upon any sidewalk in front of their premises or bicycle path any broken glass iron or other material or substance that might injure or puncture the tire or other parts of a bicycle any person or company violating this section shall be liable to the owner of any bicycle that might be injured thereby for the full amount of the injury together with the costs of collecting section 7 it Is hereby made the duty of the street supervisor to see that all bicycle paths are made and kept in as good condition as the condition of the street will permit and that all stones or other obstructions are removed section 8 all ordinances or parts of ordinances 0 ogden city that conflict herewith aro hereby repealed section 9 this ordinance shall go into eject when approved by the mayor passed by the city council of ogden city utah aug 6 1901 and referred to the mayor tor approval JOHN V BLUTH city recorder approved aug 12 1801 M S BROWNING mayor of ogden city utah state of county of weber es I 1 chereb y certify that the above and foregoing Is a full true and correct copy of entitled an ordinance providing tor a bicycle path or roadway through the Streets of ogden and granting privileges and pro to and their riders passerby Pass edby the city council of Ogden city utah aug G 1901 and approved by the hon M S browning mayor aug 12 1901 my hand and the corporate seal ot ogden city utah day 0 A D tt SAL JOHN V city recorder |
