Show AND THE MELONS DID BURST and there was a great time at the tabernacle fair it was the aay given over to the people ef north ogden and pleasant view the fire alarm did they burst well we wonder they camo out so rapidly that ones yea were feasting at all times during t tha afternoon on tho most luscious watermelons water melons ever exhibited and every ne who took in the tabernacle fair took a look it nothing else at the melons nearly everybody however took more than a look it Is cooling to the stomach you can eat and eat and eat and just what some ot the fair visitors did it seemed that there was no limit to their capacity and there was certainly no limit to the supply there were thousands of them and it there had been a cake walk last sight the cake would not have been in it the dance was a melon dance and the rich red ot the meat therein was no richer than the glow on the cheeks ot who ate and danced it was a most successful day and evening and though given over to the people of north ogden and pleasant view brought out as many people from the otty as from the county the people from the north however were most emphatically in it to them was extended the greater courtesy and their wants were attended most promptly they were made to feel that this was their fair and especially this day of it TUB FIRE ALARM about nine great excitement was caused by an event not down on the pro gramme the fire department rushed by with a clang of bells and the enormous crowd left everything i and proceeded to scale the north fence in an effort to see where was the fire everybody though glenwood was burning again and talked it until it was almost a belief CAKE WALK tonight cnare will be a grand cake walk tor splendid prizes and it will be under the supervision of the chief of terpsichorean events john L her alck what will happen when a hundred cake walkers get on the floor can only be conjectured but the best plan will be lor all to go and see PRIZE WINNERS the raffling of prizes last night brought out the following as winners head rest lottie johnson quilt ellen F burton rocking chair agnes johnson dinner set mrs M H thomas bon bon dish mrs jos silk drape alma chambers dailie chas crutchlow rose jar fannie breedan Breed cn sofa pillow osborne pin cushion margaret peterson sofa pillow edith shaw fancy cushion batlle myers cushion aeo H welch sofa pillow 0 A penrod painted plaque mattle ford dollie mamie quilt jane S anderson the drawings take place at the west end of the tabernacle THE PARADE OF THE QUEEN AT IN THE AFTERNOON tomorrow there will be a big parade at in the afternoon and the bands will be in the column the line of will too extensive and few streets in the city will fail to see the event saturday will te made the big day of the fair and the crowd it in proportion to that on week days will be as much or more than can be handled the attendance has been grei ater every day than anticipated and the management of the fair Is correspondingly despondingly ly jubilant A NEW attraction this afternoon and evening there will le on exhibition at the fair a young lady who was born without arms she is miss pauline olson and she will knit sew make lace and perform other startling acts with her toes and feet it will be a sight worth seeing and a privilege to learn how a person even without arms can become clent in some arts at which others may labor a life time and fall she is an armless wonder and none should all to see her |
