In ancient Germany, Gretchen had to have "fair hair, like gold : long bright, and curly." There Is a famous description of a French lady of the Thirteenth century. "Uer hair had the brilliance of gold, and was twisted Into rebellious curls" so evidently permanent waving was known. |
