The fire was believed to have started start-ed at the basement of the Highland Boy Hotel, setting, the garage next to it on fire, the fire spread so rapidly with the dry breeze that it was impossible im-possible to get it under control. The inmates of the hotel were burned in. their beds before, they had time to escape.
