Monday ! night, at tho home of his parents and j will he brought to Ogdon In irons this evening by lVtectlte Tender. It Is said that Volgi's shortage will amount to about $500 Volgt Is twenty-four years of age and Is the tton of Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Volgt of Salt Lake City. He has been in tho employ of the electrical rom- pany for over two years nnd has been j considered one of Its most trusted i men. He has charge of all the hooks of the Ogden branch of the firm and has acted as asslstunt manager. Shorlnges were found which lead to the young man's arrest. J. j. Fugate of tho Salt Lake offl cers, who Is in Ogden auditing the books of the local house declined to make any stntemont as to the amount of Voigt's shortage nnd stated that it was the desire of tho company to treat the matter with as little publicity public-ity ns possible. Chief of Police Thomas Browning is of the opinion that the bookkeeper has been plunging heavily on sports nnd that the embezzled funds wero used for this purpose. The young man will probably not bo arraigned In court until the auditing of his hooks has been completed and the full nmonnt of. the company's loss Is known. |
