When Cora Ellis' was broug'ht before be-fore Judge Howell this morning io receive re-ceive her sentence for the crime of grand larceny, to which sbe and W. 1. Seath pleaded guilty a few days ago, she brok down and wept bitterly. bitter-ly. ' She was reo.uested to approach nearer the ju.hro and explain why shf had stolen from lur friends and employer, em-ployer, or give the reasons, If she bad any, why the court should not pass judgment. "1 did wrong." she said, "and will have to suffer for it. 1 have nothing in particular to say why ymi should not sentence me. He was given until tomorrow morning to thing the matter over, and the passing of sentence sen-tence in Cora Hills' case was postponed post-poned until that time. |
