Show HANDCUFFS FOR TWO BOYS .Joseph Eastman and Frank Jones, the two youths charged with having robbed a Japanese rooming house, were arraigned in police court thu mornlug and given instructions by lh.? judge as to their legal rights. Pen I-iug I-iug their preliminary hearing, they we're placed under bonds of Jo'" ea:h, Eastman and Jones, neither of whom Is of age, are alleged to have entered the Btore room of a rooming house at 2415 Lincoln avenue, on O-lober O-lober 10 and stolen wearing apparel and barberlng tools, valued at $15. The property belonged to T. Takahaslil one of the occupants of the rooming house. Eastman has for the pan two years been under the eyo of the .probation officers. After the young mens' arraignment they were taken from the city prison t the county Jail. Eastman resented the placing of the handcuffs on hU wrists and was told by the officer In charge that the act was for hi own good. "For," said the officer, "If you had no handcuffs on you might be tempted tu run away, In which case 1 would be compelled to take a shot at you." "If you ever took a shot at me," said young Eastman, "you'd be sorry for It." The charge against the young men Is burglary in th ftet-ODd degree. |
