Middleton being called on to perform that duty, because or the absence ab-sence of the chaplain. Bishop David McKay. Dye's Address, Chairman Dye addressed the convention con-vention on the principles of Republicanism, Repub-licanism, calling his hearers' attention atten-tion to the glorious achievements of the Republican paity, and predicting that tho achievement will be as great in the future. Mr. Dye stated that the Republican party always had. solved the great governmental questions of the nation correctly and that It Is certain that it will not fall in the future. lie referred to the money question, J stating th;it McKinley handled the silver sil-ver contention by the Inauguration of a gold standard and that Roosevelt made a satisfactory adjutsment of th panic of Uo7 by having circulated bank notes as a form of legal tender. The chairman stated to the convention conven-tion that he anticipated that every one in the convention would be given giv-en the opportunity of express his will freely and that the vote of each delegate dele-gate would be untraninn leil He believed be-lieved in equal rights to all and special spe-cial privileges to none. He also stated stat-ed that the ticket to be named by the Republicans to. lay would be the ticket, tic-ket, elected on election day, by a large majority, and he hoped the very best men would he selected to fill the places.
