Show MINE OWNERS TO STOP WIUJCATJING I.os Angeles, Car., Sept. 20 Thc problem created by state versus national na-tional claims to control of water power pow-er sites, which excited the irrigation congress at Pueblo, came before the resolutions committee of the American Ameri-can Mining concress today in the form of a resolution demanding that s'ate control be recocnized. and that forthwith laws be passed which will enable I he sites to be leased and the power developed, while the revenue from such leases shall be devoid to the protection of watersheds from forest for-est fires. B. L. Foster of Colorado, presented the resolution. It calls for sixty years leases of water power sites and declares de-clares that the power Is essential for the further development of the mining min-ing Industry. It may cause nn Interesting session either In committee or on the floor of the congress, as there are both friends and foes of state control among the delegates.
