Sad and fsolomn funeral services oer the remains of Arthur Manning who died Sept. 2. at Knoxvllle, Tonn., were held yesterday at 2 p. ni., from tho West Point or South Hooper Grove, Bishop Gilbert Parker presiding. presid-ing. The Syracuse choir rendered "Som'-tlmo "Som'-tlmo We'll Understand," and "Peyond thla World of Tears,'' Miss Retta Sessions, Ses-sions, a solo, ' Only Remembered by What We Have Done." solo. Oh. My Father," Mr. Roy Robinson; solo. "Resting Now From Toil and Sorrow," Sor-row," Miss Addio Toned. The speakers were: President C. A. Callls of tho Southern States .Mission, .Mis-sion, Wra. Simmons and R. Majors missionary companions. President Joseph H. Grant,' James A. Eldrldge and Jesde M. Smith, all of whom J spoke of the good character of the deceased de-ceased at homo and abroad, and offered of-fered many words r.f comfort and consolation to tho grief-stricken family. fam-ily. President Collis, who accompanied the remain to his Utah home, and was at his bedside when death camo. paid a high tribute to tho faithful and devoted labors, as an cld-r of Israel in the Gospel cause and feelingly referred re-ferred to the beautiful testimony, which he bore, of the dllnlty of the gospel, to his weeping companions, and knowing, as ho testified. "That he was passing away." The numerous floral tributes bore evidence of the esteem In which he was held by all. The cortege, three-quarters of a mile In length, followed the remains 'to the new West Point cemetery, where tho grave and cemetery (this being tho ilifct Interment made) was dedicated by President Joseph II.
