Show HEAVY TRAVEL OF FRUIT TRAINS The la6t forty-ejght hours has witnessed wit-nessed the heaviest movement of freight on the Harrlman lines through Ogden that has occurred in several years. In a little less than twenty-four twenty-four hours twenty trains were checked check-ed through by tho local freight accnt. Four of these trains were made up wholly of cars packed with green fruit The heavy shipment of California gTeen fruit has Just started and promises prom-ises to be the largest that the roads have handled for years. The fruit crop in California this year win be an exceptionally large one and the shipments ship-ments east will be Increased because of the failure of crops In many eastern east-ern 6tates. The four carloads of fruit which passed through Ogden yesterday are for the Chicago and New York markets. The fruits consisted of peaches, plums, apricots and cantaloupes. can-taloupes. William H. Chevers, Joint freight agent for the three Harrlman roads, says that the increased shipment of freight shows a general improvement la industrial conditions all over the country'. |
