Tho highwayman high-wayman warned him to be quiet aud a second man thou went through his pockets, securing 59 In currency. The victim followed the two men to Wall avenue in the hope of finding a policeman police-man and upon leavlug the trail to bo-curo bo-curo one, lost sight of the men. The Second Crime. Tho second Incident occurred about 11:;; 0 when a- colored man by the. name of Will Clark was held up In the interior of a block on Twenty-fourth Twenty-fourth Btreet between Lincoln and Wall avenues.' After reltevlng him of his valuables, the men. wrora Clark ed him to "make tracks " Clark happened hap-pened to be directly in front of his house and rushing lu he procured a revolver and fired after the recreating recreat-ing highwaymen. The Third Case. Shortly after the Clark incident, n young man rushed up to Patrolmun Hcrrtck and stated that ho had been held up by a man near Twenty-third ftreet aud Grant avenue. He had snatched the gun from the man's hand and an the latter turned to run. be had pulled the trigger and found that the weapon was unloaded. The Fourth One. The fourth lncld"nt was the case of a man who refused to give his name but stated that he had been grabbed by two colored women while passing down Grant avenue between Twenty-fourth and Twenty-fifth streets and while one of them enfolded him fondly to her amide bosom the other went through his pockets, taking a small amount of cash. |
