Show TRICK ELEPHflrTf I eijoysj bath A large crowd of little children gathered In front of the Orphoum theater the-ater Just before the matinee yesterday yester-day afternoon and stood gazing with open-mouthed astonishment at the huge elephant, ".Minnie," which belongs be-longs to Captain Maxlmlllon Gruber. "Minnie" was having one of her dally baths, and the way she acted while a large stream of water was played upon her was a whole show In itself. Tho new fire hose Installed in tho front part of tho theater was used to convey the water to the street, and the force of tho water was almost enough to knock a person over, but "Minnie"' didn't mind that In the least: she enjoyed It. The nozzl? of the hose was placed in her mouth, and she swallowed the water as fast as it came out. Then she1 was taken to the rear of the theater, .md the next time the children saw her was In the performance, after which they all went up on the stage aud fed her peanuts and candy. Tho day proved a wry good one for "Minnie,"' and no doubt she Is looking forward to the Saturday matinee, when she will again meet her little friends. |
