Show BUSY WEEK IN IUTMDE8 Tho past week waa a successful one in tho Ogden building world, them bclog splendid advancement made in various directions Buildings Build-ings that were In tho first stages of construction in the beginning of the week assumed definite form by Saturday Sat-urday night. There eeemed to bo no lack of builders and plenty of build-lug build-lug material was on hand during the entire week, so there were no dolays of any description. The cement workers on the Marlon hotel on Lincoln avenue and Twenty-fifth Twenty-fifth streets have moved rapidly, and now the pillars aleng the south sl5 of th basement and the bases for pillars through the center have been laid. On Monday morning, it is stated by the contractor, work may be lopun on the concrete pillars that will en-tend en-tend to tho top of the building, and It will be but a few days when the ' cement floor of the basement mav be laid. The Salt Iake & Ogden Railway company Is just finishing the excavation excava-tion f.r the rondhed of their track bo- tw.-en Twenty-fifth and Twenty-fourth ; streets on Lincoln avenue, and by tho ; beginning of next week the laying of the cement base will ho begi.'n. Tho carpenters are busy placing the roof upon the new business block that Is being erected by David Maulo on Twenty-fifth street, near Lincoln avenue. av-enue. The new Lyceum theater, near the corner of Grant avenue, on Twenty-fifth Twenty-fifth street, has been built so rapidly during the week that the changes from day to day have ben very marked. The brick walls have been completed, and the largo girders for tho roof have boon placed in position, and the carpenters are moving along rapidly in the 'construction of the floors of the balcony of the auditor- luui. The roof will be placed upon the structure in tho early part of next week, and It Is fully expected that tho theater will be ready for use. near the middle of September. Nearly all of tho buildings along the route of Hudson avenue have been razed to the ground. All the buildings build-ings facing either upon Twenty-fourth or Twenty-fifth street, except the Tribe building on tho former street and the building formerly occupied bv tho American Tea company on the latter street, and they are fast falling. Hy C, o'clock tonight the walls of these two buildings will practically bo town down and a plain view of the entire width of the avenue between Twenty-fourth and Twenty-fifth streets may bo had. The contracts for the building of the pavement, sidewalk, curb and gutter gut-ter and sewer along the now avenue will be let within the next ten davs, and It Is thought that there will be nothing In the way of commencing building operations. The paving on that avenue will be done In conjunction conjunc-tion with the laying of nspbaltum on Washington avenue, between Twenty-Fecond Twenty-Fecond streej and the Ogden river bridge, it is planned to complete the paving mapped out on these two avenues av-enues before the extremely cold weather appears. W. H. Bills is building a resldence on Washington svenue. between Thirty-second and TMrtv-thir,i streets that will cost upwards of $2 -100. H. F.
