The lamp was leaking und the audience hardly hnd ( "italned a view of the opening scene when flames suddenly shot along the walls and reached the overhanging leaves. The women on the stage lulled the leaves down, but this only helped to spread the Annies. They then ran from the stage and Joined the frightened members of the audience, audi-ence, who were already seeking the exiis. The three men hurriedly gathered rug.s from the floor and with them Kmothered the flames, IJttle property proper-ty damage was done. |
