Show POLICE BELIEVE THEY HAVE BURGLAR IN JAIL C. W. Aeer, Suspectod by Officers of Having Robbed Council Saloon. Salt Lake, Jan. 13. Patrolman Burton Bur-ton arrested C. W. Aeer in the Union saloon Wednesday night and took him to tho police Btatlun, where he was charged with the burglary of the Council Coun-cil saloon early Wednesday morning. Early Wednesday morning a burglar entered the Council Baloon on East First South, near Main street, and stele $35. entrance was gained by breaking in tte .front door. and. after ransacking the drawers and attempting attempt-ing to open the cash register, thc burglar escaped- through thc rear dcor. The police were immedlatelv notified noti-fied of 'the burglary and a description descrip-tion of the suspected man given to the department. Aeer had been doing do-ing porter work at the saloon, and when Patrolman Burton found him he had spent a portion of the $35 for liquor and had left about $20 with the bartejidcr of the Union saloon on East First South street, near State street. He could give no account of where he had obtained the money he had been spending and what he had changed corresponded to what had been taken from tho Council palooa. |
